With absolutely enormous remixes and monumental compositions, Will Atkinson‘s tracks has been absolutely ripping through dance floors all across the world. Only 22 years old (tentatively), this young Scotish artist has been somewhat of a true trance prodigy with his releases being supported by all of the major trance players in the current scene. After releasing his stunning original tune, Hold Tight and his euphoric remix of John O’Callaghan & Giuseppe Ottaviani‘s track, Ride The Wave, he comes at us with a high quality remix to OzzyXpm‘s single, Left Behind. With Atkinson completely on fire right now, this remix shows that his is not going to ease up on quality releases anytime soon.
Like many of Atkinson‘s tracks, each one does not follow a set course of protocol, unlike some trance producers in the scene. Some are completely uplifting while others bring out the big tech guns of raw sawtooth waves. This particular remix manages to combine the best of both worlds and gives us an exciting and refreshing take on 140 BPM Trance. Defined by its catchy, almost iconic ostinato synth, Left Behind starts with full throttle drive from the start with hints of 303 acid in the mix. As the heavy bass kicks in, a subtle upward synth gives a nice touch before breaking off into an exciting breaks section into a beautiful floating session with blended choir, serene bass lines and chopped vocals all as a beautiful piano line ties everything together. It builds into a frenzy with roaring synths, frantic drums and upward synths before it drops into a pulsating, grand drop, with an incredible chord structure and fearsome drive throughout.
As one of the hottest tunes in trance right now, Left Behind has been critically supported by artists such as Armin van Buuren, John O’Callaghan, Aly & Fila, Bryan Kearney, and Simon Patterson. This is an exceptionally well thought out tune and it will be released tomorrow, December 10th on Blue Soho Recordings.
