German power producer Zedd has been hard at work with eccentric Pop-star Lady Gaga, producing her upcoming album entitled ARTPOP. The young EDM prodigy spoke to The Rolling Stone, saying that he’s quite excited about the duo’s work: “…I think the stuff we’ve made is pretty fucking cool.”
The two artists met in London in 2011 on the recommendation of Interscope big shot Jimmy Iovine. After sending Gaga a demo track, the popstar became adamant that Zedd be the one to produce her next album. After touring with Lady Gaga, Zedd grew to admire her free spirit as an artist, saying “It’s amazing, because she does not have to please anyone, and she is who she is… Her first idea of how we should approach the music was just to be completely open – nothing is too crazy. Whatever is dope is dope. We do whatever we want, and we don’t have to make a song that’s 3 minutes and 30 seconds just to fit the radio.”
Reportedly the two have finished around five or six tracks for the album, which despite Zedd‘s influence, isn’t necessarily destined to be a work of EDM, “We didn’t try to make an EDM album – but, at the same time, we didn’t try not to make an EDM album.” Given Gaga‘s past work on Born This Way, we can probably expect the new album to be somewhat dancey, but then again we could also be pitched a gargantuan curveball.
Even if you aren’t a fan of Lady Gaga, I believe that ARTPOP will prove to be an interesting record. With an emphasis on making the music they want, these two monumental artists have a chance to set a unique precedent for crossover producers and artists alike. Stay posted for more details as they arise!

sad ,,,, you have to get someone who’s way more talented then you are to make your shit for you, why I hate pop music yuck.
its called collaboration…she’s a vocalist…im not a fan of gaga’s music but she has every right to ask whoever she wants to producer her songs. Collaboration is a great thing, no matter who the artists are.
