It’s always a good day when you wake up to see a brand new Bassnectar track sitting there on your computer screen, waiting to be played. Although it’s been a while since Lorin’s last release, every bit of new music he unleashes seems to get me just as excited as the first time I heard his unbelievable bass music. His remix of “Feeling Good” is out for everyone to hear, and I couldn’t think of a better person to ask than Bassnectar to remix one of the nations most renowned jazz ladies, Nina Simone. Its been almost 50 years since her jazzy hit, “Feeling Good”, spread like wildfire across the country, and Bassnectar definitely had plans to bring it back in full swing with his remix! Hearing him turn the original jazzed out vibes of this track into his own thrilling, bass-infused masterpiece really reminded me why I have so much respect for the California native in the first place. After just hearing Bassnectar’s booming track on this Verve Remixed album, I am so much more excited to hear Flume, Zeds Dead, Pretty Lights, & Carnage’s own remixes on the rest of the album. Luckily Bassnectar’s remix of “Feeling Good” is available on Beatport, but we will have to wait until July 9th for the rest of the album to be released!
