Nielsen’s system that keeps track of all music related data, SoundScan, has just released the mid year top 20 selling albums as well as the mid year top 20 selling digital songs. Amongst that list, you can find unsurprising results, such as Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience (only album to have sold over 2 million) as well as Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories coming in at number 10. Interestingly enough, as noted by Billboard, album sales have dropped a good 6% this year versus the same time span last year, with 142 million albums selling in 2013 compared to 150.5 during the first half of 2012. Let us know your thoughts on the list in the comment section.
