Insomniac is in the works of devising an event that may be on the Saugerties grounds of Woodstock ’94. Proposed to come next Memorial Day weekend, the event would have a possible attendance of up to seventy five thousand people. Along with this, there is said to be between four to seven stages, fireworks, carnival rides and more. The event will be 18+. The specific area is Winston Farm, which hosted the 1994 incantation of Woodstock. COO of Insomniac, Simon Lamb, had this to say…

“What makes our events special relative to other music festivals and other concerts, you know, (is) we create an environment that’s filled with installation art, fireworks, costumed performers… It’s much more of a combination of a carnival, theater, music, art and special effects. We encourage the audience to participate in the event.”

Pasquale Rotella also had this to say on the matter:

“What’s great about this, when you do destination festivals you tend to get a much better crowd than when you’re in the middle of a city.”
