The veteran project of Klaypex, they dropped their EP, Lights The Remixes, today through their very own label Klaypex Records. With the original comes a remix from Klaypex themselves, Skrux, Dani Deahl, and Rekoil.
The original is for all the bassheads out there; the convoluted dubstep track is very cerebral. It’s heavy in low frequencies, with a variety of sounds. Klaypex’s own remix is some festival big room; however the thing I’d like to highlight about it is the gratifying piano. The first outside remixer is the Texan Skrux. His melodic dubstep interpretation is insatiably stunning; from the vocal chopping to the subtle growls it’s entirely amazing. Kicking things up in energy is Dani Deahl whose house jam comes next. A straight up club banger; this minimal translation is more than catchy- it’s iconic- which is just one of the reasons why it’s one of my favorites. Lastly, Rekoil turns the lights up in the traphouse. It’s a dirty hitter with gritty growls that have me wanting to step up my sound design game.
