The duo that has paved the way in productions of “sick lazers and bass”, have hit a snag in the chain after their release of, “Abandon Ship”. The two have cancelled their December shows in Australia for a main stage slot at “Future Music Festival.” Gareth and Rob of Knife Party were approached at the last minute to perform at Future Music Festival and unfortunately the two were on conflicting times. Rob came forth with a statement claiming that the, headlining spot at Future Music was, “too good to pass up.”

Now if you are an Australian resident with previous plans to see Knife Party don’t be alarmed. You can either get your money back or use your existing ticket to see them at Future Music plus many others. You will be reissued a full refund for your ticket or you can use that ticket to get into Future which will save you roughly $60, which is really cool.

It is really unfortunate that Knife Party decided to bail last minute, but allowing ticket holders access to Future, which is to host some huge names in the scene, for the same price is rather cool.

Following the announcement of the cancellations, Knife Party also discussed Pendulum during their interview with Triple J:

I can’t actually promise anything since I don’t know how it’s going to turn out. If things really take off after this Knife Party record then we might be spending a little more time on this but depending on how things go we could see a Pendulum record next year for sure.

To get a refund: “Available until December 22. If you purchased your tickets at a ticket agency (Ticketek in Sydney, Moshtix or Ticketmaster in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth), please take your tickets back to the place of purchase for a full refund.”

If you would like to use your ticket to go to Future Music Festival, it’s as simple as holding onto your ticket and bringing it to the festival. The barcodes will inputted into Future’s database to be scanned at the gates.
