If you are a fan of trap music and culture, you have seen Human Weirdo’s clothing design for superstar producer Brillz. No doubt a look that is off the beaten path in the American market, it’s refreshing to see such a bold fashion statement being made by some of the hottest artists in the trap game today.

The art of music and fashion go hand in hand, and the †₩ØИK movement that was started by producers is venturing into the hearts and homes of fans. Where does this style come from? Why do we like it? Why should we as consumers purchase these clothes? We took an in-depth look at the †₩ØИK lifestyle, brand, and its clothing so we could explain to you why †₩ØИK is taking over the trap scene and if your hard earned dollars should go towards rocking the look.

Twonk is a lifestyle, it’s a movement, it’s on some weird next level shit that no one can explain. It’s like takin PLURNT to a WHOLE ‘nother level. [Curt of Flosstradamus]

As the EDM Trap movement was being birthed, no one knew who the human version of any producer was, people only knew their music. †₩ØИK makes clothes that keep the wearer shrouded, obscured, to vibe with that idea. Successful producers were the first ones to rock the look. When focus is no longer centered upon the man, your mind is free to connect with the music.

Twonk is a state of mind, Twonk is a state of being. [Bro Safari]

₩H∆† IS †₩ØИK?

Øur aes†hectic is an expression of our philøsøphy, ®everse çr¥stal b∆ll. No one can dictate your future, it’s up to you to tell the crystal ball what your future looks like. Our garments contain messages like this written in our own †wonk alphabet all over them. Our silhouettes are inspired by the deep web, middle eastern garments, martial artists uniforms.

†₩ØИK & the †ΣΛΜ ₩ere born through choosing art over money, truth over the World, surrendering to the divine. It took leaps of faith to leave pay checks to make weird music & weird clothes. †₩ØИK is that weird art, born through us. †₩ØИK†ΣC is our artistic vision of the future, manifested in clothing form. Today we thrive on Wi-Fi, tomorrow we become the technology. The †₩ØИK†ΣC collection (our latest release) is the design of that simultaneously ethereal & technological connected future we share. #notafraidofthefuture #twonk #twonktec

The Oath Long Tee features text of the twonk mantras, 6″ splits at the hip for easy mobility, and extends 6″ past the length of a normal tee in both front and back. This is a signature look in the trap movement world wide. Made in the USA and of a very light-weight and breathable spandexy-cotton, this tee has hug-your-body-but-still-feels-lose quality while wearing it. Modern comfortability and soft to the touch, this shirt was worn to a show and kept us cool under hot circumstances.

†₩ØИK unisex mesh gym shorts with deep pockets, drawstring, and elastic waist made dancing and moving at a trap show a breeze. Breathable mesh keep the wearer cool in a hot crowd. The deep pockets made the wearer feel more comfortable his keys and wallet wouldn’t fall out when he went crazy for a good drop.

Unisex †₩ØИK†ΣC leggings create the vibe of “wearing a technological space travel suit birthed from a crack in the internet.” Perhaps the hardest to understand garment of the †₩ØИK movement for men are these leggings. They are an article of clothing many guys aren’t used to rocking and might perhaps skip over, but they look really cool when you’re in a full †₩ØИKstyle gear. If you just wore the tee and the shorts, your look is incomplete. With the cool factor and bagginess of the the rest of the outfit, nothing about them appears feminine in real life. I love the risk †₩ØИK took with adding these to their style, it really paid off. Girls, if you’re not ready to rock the entire †₩ØИK style head to toe yet, I still really recommend these leggings with your choice of top. They fit well, they’re not too constricting and the elastic band at the top isn’t so tight that you’re going to feel self conscious that your love handles are busting out. Definitely cop yourself a pair.

†₩ØИK bandanas conceal your physical identity and follow the mantra of EDM trap of keeping the wearer shrouded in obscurity. If wearing a bandana over your face isn’t your style, there are a million other uses for a bandana while at a show or a festival. Hang it from your pocket, tie it around your wrist to wipe sweat away, give it to your girlfriend to wear as a tank top. This bandana is large and has a myriad of uses in the EDM scene. I love it when girls wear them as tops to shows, as seen on the †₩ØИK models below:

The multi-colored “Trippy” beanie lettering is immensely popular among festival-goers, and it’s a great way to add a little bit of flare to the black and white scheme of their rest of the outfit. Quality embroidering I feel will last through a long weekend of dancing and camping, this would be great to take to the festivals at the beginning of the season that have chilly nights. Or, if wearing beanies is just your thing, this is for you too.

The Yalien Hat art is self-described as “stripes of ancient divination that facilitate change in your cosmic trajectory.” A black snapback with embroideries everywhere, wearing this to a show will certainly make you easy to spot as a  part of the †₩ØИK World.

Twonk? To me? It’s more than a style, it’s a Fn’ sound, it’s a Fn’ lifestyle. It’s about bass music it’s about gettin funky. It’s about this whole movement! [Luminox]

I’ll admit that I didn’t know what to think of this new style when I first saw it on Brillz, DJ Snake (picture below), Milo & Otis, and others. It definitely had that European vibe and takes the kind of bold chances you see in high fashion. When I saw Brillz wearing it on stage for the first time I thought, “Ok. I kind of get it. It looks good on stage.” After seeing it several more times and learning from the men and women behind Twonk World what their style means to them and what it means to the EDM trap movement, I’ve become a HUGE fan of their line. If you are looking to embody the trap movement with the fashion you choose for festival season 2015, look at †₩ØИK for ideas that separate you from the mundane. We don’t go to shows to get normal, we go to shows to get WΣi®d.
