With two albums already under their belt, group Major Lazer – made up of Diplo and co-producers Walshy Fire and Jillionare – are gearing up for their third album release. With no information other than it’s coming very, very soon, the first of many singles just dropped early this morning as a collaboration with DJ Snake and MØ titled “Lean On.”

Major Lazer is quite the eclectic group, releasing various styles of music all based around the reggae sound, whether that’s an electro banger like “Pon De Floor” or a smoother track like “Jessica.”

“Lean On” finds itself among the smoother side with a considerable modern influence from future bass and tropical house styles, bringing the tempo down and allowing the vibe to ooze out from every soft synth and modulated vocal. Coming off of the mish-mash that was the Jack Ü LP, this track sounds like a well-polished gem and I could not be more excited to hear this return to quality production from the Diplo camp. Though this track is not necessarily confirmed for the Major Lazer album, it would seem odd to release it as a stand-alone single, considering the album is reportedly dropping in April.
