LA-based act Louis Vivet, winners of last year’s The Discovery Project, propelled their presence in the scene with their cover of the 90s hit “Save Tonight.” After earning support from KCRW and Gareth Emery’s Electric for Life podcast, along with a remix from rising producer Nigel Good, the duo has come back with their next original track “Downbeat.”
Released via Prep School Recordings, “Downbeat” shows off Louis Vivet’s creativity of going beyond the boundaries of a given genre. The sultry vocals by Gavrielle — who also supplied the vocals for the “Save Tonight” cover — are juxtaposed with elements of French electro, nu-disco and indie pop.
