Last night at the Juno Awards, one of the only semi-exciting occurrences was Deadmau5‘s live performance of “Seeya” with Colleen D’Agostino, who admittedly didn’t impress on the vocals.
In fact, the whole awards ceremony was poorly produced and a bore to watch.
Although Joel didn’t win the artist of the year award that he was nominated for, he did get a few minutes to shine on a pretty cool stage. With that being said the audience appeared out of it and many people have taken to Twitter to discuss the lackluster showing and resultant reflection on the state of Canada’s music industry.
Thankfully, there are still a ton of talented electronic artists coming out of the Great White North, and Canada’s EDM fan base is alive and thriving; just look at Toronto Rave Community.
Anyways, check out the video below and let us know your thoughts on the performance. With Mau5trap devoting an entire solo EP to D’Agostino, do you think she will be a success provided this example of live talent?
