We hope you’re not tiring of hearing about new and emerging music festivals, because the third annual Great North promises to be a spectacular shindig. Nestled deep in the woods of Maine’s Last Breath Farm, the event strives to fuse elements of the sonic and the ocular with a plethora of extraordinarily talented musicians and visual artists.
While headliners have yet to be announced, the majority of Great North‘s Phase 1 lineup was revealed earlier today and it’s definitely not another group of cookie cutters; Lettuce, Papadosio, G Jones, Mix Master Mike, CloZee and many more all make appearances, some even performing more than once. Variety is the name of the game here, with musical styles ranging from jam rock and reggae to glitch-hop and various electronica. Your ears will certainly be twitching with glee all weekend, but there’s also a metric ton of amazing art for your lovely peepers to take in. Next level artists like the Welch Brothers, Adam Psybe, Jonathan Solter and plenty of others will be found honing their craft around the venue, be it in the massive art tent or huddled along the misty tree line. As expected from a festival of this nature, there will also be yoga, workshops, and various speakers to occupy your body and mind during any downtime not spent kicking back at camp.
So, if you’re looking to close out your festival season on a high note, we strongly encourage spending your Labor Day weekend at Great North Music & Arts festival. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. To get an idea of the experience that awaits you, check out their 2014 recap video after the jump.
