So nearly a month ago, Rain Man teased a monstrous 30-second build of a new track he was working on. It cut off just before the drop, leaving listeners with enormous blue balls (or ovaries) until yesterday when he officially dropped “Make The Fire Burn”.
Featuring ragga vocals, huge 808 basslines and builds that would make a baby panda’s mind go blank, this is a party track if I ever heard one.
Personally, I feel like Rain Man is still trying to find his sound. The tracks that he’s released so far, and his live shows, are good – don’t get me wrong. But it’s going to take time to remove himself mentally and stylistically from that Krewella sound and I don’t think he’s done it quite yet.
I’m eagerly awaiting for the day I can say to myself, “Ah. There he is.”
