Surprise! Fox Stevenson is releasing a free EP today, aptly titled Free Stuff.

One of the tracks on EP is “It’s True,” a melodic blend of Fox’s characteristic style and some serious throwback wubs – I’m talking 2011, to be precise. The first drop was made in 2011, and the second was remade about a month back, creating a very interesting blend of styles and age.

The 2011 wubs may not have aged that well, but the second drop is pure progressive house goodness. The muted synths are followed by a staggeringly melodic chord sequence and bounce rhythm that you can’t help but get up and dance to. The polyrhythms are astoundingly beautiful, and I wish they lasted longer. But hey, that just means that I get to listen to the song more!
