Martin Garrix should have won #1 DJ in the world this year in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll, that’s something an overwhelming majority of the EDM community agrees upon – but more on that later.
Garrix certainly proves why he should have won, though, with his performance at Amsterdam Music Festival where he debuted epic new music and absolutely destroyed the crowd. He clearly made much more of an impact than the supposed #1 DJs, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, who were met with a mixture of boo’s and applause during their performances in Amsterdam and at a DJ Mag party in London.
As the opening sequence to his ADE set, the 19-year-old production phenom premieres a brand new melodic/progressive original that he announced in his Facebook-sponsored interview the day prior – and which he plans to give away for free. More than that though, the Dutch electronic artist makes some major changes to his normal festival set and amazes fans at every twist and turn throughout this high-energy hour of non-stop tunage.
