Earlier this month, the world’s first themed festival-cruise set sail on a five day cruise from Singapore to Phuket. After immersing over 2,000 ravers in an aquatic-steampunk Atlantis, Shipsomnia’s inaugural journey, The Search For Lost Rhythms, has returned to tell the glorious tale.
Aboard the vessel Costa Victoria, Shipsomnia transformed the five day and four night expedition into the party debut of a lifetime. The voyage began with the activation of an Atlantis inspired portal to connect the ship to the vast expanse of ocean. Led by a steampunk pirate captain and his trusty Seahorse Guardsman and Aqua Girls, it seems they were able to find the elusive lost rhythms. The event’s organizers Mad Fresh Events, couldn’t be happier with the result of Shipsomnia’s debut.
“It was amazing to see our vision finally come to life – the music, the staging and decor, and everyone’s incredible costumes. It wasn’t just an epic vacation but an overall magical experience.” Co-founder Alessandra Maderni
Unlike the boat parties we’ve come to expect in the U.S., Shipsomnia’s takes the time to relish the exotic nature of it’s route. The voyage made a stop on day three in Phuket, Thailand to experience the Save Our Seas Beach Festival, where fans were able to enjoy sets by Justin Jay, Pete Tong, and Armand Van Helden on a private island. As well, folks were able to take part in parasailing, SCUBA diving, banana boating, or even get pampered with a Thai massage. Apart from riotous DJ sets, onboard Costa Victoria, revelers were treated to a DJ Masterclass with Mat Zo, a dodgeball tournament with Kastle and Amtrac, yoga, and even a Las Vegas Michael Jackson Show. Honestly, this entire festival is far past anything we can comprehend, so you’ll have to experience it for yourself and get back to us. Already, Shipsomnia is planning a follow-up voyage, Tale Of The Kraken, scheduled for March 2017. For more information, peep Shipsomnia’s website.
