Electric Forest is a glorious place. The organizers know it. We know it. The world knows it. And it will remain a beautiful place whether or not its patrons indulge in their vice of choice. In fact, the magic of the Forest itself is mind-altering enough to get you soaring higher than you’ve ever dreamt possible. However, there’s been a lot of outrage surrounding their policy change on bringing in outside alcohol to the campgrounds. Electric Forest HQ has heard the concern loud and clear, and has issued the following response over Twitter.
HQ understands there has been some confusion regarding the festival alcohol policy. (1/4)

It is fully expected that Electric Forest’s campground experience will be very similar to the way it has always been in the past. (3/4)

Now, while this isn’t exactly an answer, we can infer a couple of things. “Working to clarify the FAQ in the coming weeks,” means that they don’t have a solution yet, but are working to find one. Whether that solution is repealing the policy on bringing alcohol, or amending the wording of the policy to allow for a certain amount, we’ll have to wait and see. It’s also clear that the Electric Forest website did not display this policy change until after everyone bought tickets, which is a big contributor to this frustration. Lastly, other festivals in Michigan, like Faster Horses Festival, are still letting people cavort as usual, so long as patrons keep the drinking to their individual campsites. We’ll share Electric Forest’s official response as soon as it’s released.
