After yesterday’s bombshell news that a nude video had leaked online of DJ/producer Tigerlily, the Australian artist has chosen to use this violation of privacy as an opportunity to raise money for a worthy case, headspace. The charity addresses issues of online bullying, a very new and often maligned form of bullying that isn’t given the serious attention that it rightly deserves. This strikes home for dance music culture especially hard. As Kaskade famously said:
Tigerlily has already made an initial donation of $5000 to the cause, and she’s set up her own donation portal so that others can get involved, as well.
“In light of recent events, I have decided to set up a fundraising account for headspace in order to support victims of bullying – both online and offline, all over Australia.
I’ve spoken out many times against misogyny, sexism and online bullying, and feel so strongly that as young people we should empower and support one another, rather than tearing each other down.
Stand up for yourself and what you believe in, because you are amazing and no one can change that.”
