Throttle, the new-age don of dirty disco, is back with another helping of groove titled “Money Maker.” Featuring a classic funk/soul sample, this new single sports all the nostalgia and bubbling synth design we’ve come to expect from this Australian wonder kid.
An overtly funky guitar riff navigates the lead of the entire track, engorged by a doubly energized bassline and keyboard progression as support. I’m astonished how any 19-year-old can be so well versed in bridging the vintage feel of disco with modern swaggery, but I won’t let that keep me up at night. This is pure gold.
Still reeling from a massive collaboration with Oliver Heldens, and even getting recognition from Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, this follow-up single makes it quite obvious Throttle isn’t letting up one bit in 2016.
