The use of samples has been something of a tried-and-true experiment for a long time in the music industry. For some reason, the use of samples is still being debated; meanwhile, thousands of tracks a day are released, or started, and samples provide essential building blocks.
One unmistakable sample, one featuring a raspy voice singing “walk right in” (it’s from Loleatta Holloway’s track ‘Love Sensation’, you’re welcome), acts as the center point of this new single from Colour Castle of the same title. Sure, maybe that’s a bit lazy – but at least he’s being upfront about it.
The track makes use of the sample, chopping it up and looping it, against a groovy and bouncy bassline/drumline pattern. Check it out below.
