It feels like we’ve been on a rollercoaster reporting on the forthcoming fifth Gorillaz album. At first, we were expecting the album to drop this year, but then Jamie Hewlett said that it, in all likelihood, wouldn’t be ready until 2017. Now, in a new segment with BBC 6 Radio over the weekend, Damon Albarn has given his own testimony on the album.

Albarn says that the album “should be ready fairly soon.” We expect to at least hear some singles before the end of the year; and with some collaborators on the album already announced, including Vic Mensa and Jean Michel-Jarre, the hype is likely to go through the roof.
