Florida stands as one of the best states in the United States for electronic music, largely due to the rich history of EDM hub Miami and other cities like Orlando that have grown to support the genre. Tampa may be overshadowed by Miami and Orlando at times, but the city has actually forged a respectable underground scene over the past few years. With Tampa promoter Serious Soul bringing house, deep house, techno and tech house acts to venues like The Castle, the scene will only develop as deeper sounds appeal to more and more Americans.

Next Friday, August 19, Serious Soul brings one of its biggest bookings to The Dungeon room in The Castle: Lee Burridge. Known for launching the All Day I Dream party series and record label and playing marathon sets at Burning Man and other festivals, Burridge is truly a compelling booking for Tampa. He is slotted to play a three-hour set, offering a nice sampling of his eclectic DJing and song selection skills. Serious Soul founder and DJ Brian Busto opens up the gig with an opening set, certain to ease attendees into the magical performance from Burridge. The venue offers an intimate affair, which is the best setting to experience underground sounds.

Head over to the ticket page to purchase tickets, which are currently $40 before fees. Get excited for the show by listening to Burridge’s set from Burning Man 2011 at the Robot Heart stage below:
