When Whethan and Oliver Tree get in the studio together, magic happens. “When I’m Down” is clear evidence of it, presenting a unique take on dance music that no one else has really touched on. It’s bouncy and rhythmic without a real ego to it. It feels genuine.

Now, Bronze Whale has taken “When I’m Down” and remixed it… and honestly, I’m thinking it could be better than the original. It definitely has a different vibe to it, that’s for sure. But what the remix does that the original doesn’t is genius. It ties the small chops of the song together with a more consistent melody, and makes it a lot dancier in the meantime. Regardless of whatever underlying motivations either artist had, the remix is worthy of your time and attention. Check it out below and grab that free download if you dig it.
