Google Wrongly Sends Out Alert Of New RÜFÜS DU SOL Album

RÜFÜS DU SOL

Google is a real trickster. Today, one of our staff got a push notification of a new album by RÜFÜS DU SOL entitled Spoors (vol. 1). Of course, you can understand our excitement when we heard the news!

Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Google’s algorithm has misinterpreted a new compilation release from Oltrarno Recordings as part of the RÜFÜS DU SOL discography. There is actually an artist that goes by RUFUS with a track called “Don’t Try” on the album. We listened to it and it’s solid. But, not the RÜFÜS we were hoping for.

There’s some real confusion here, considering RÜFÜS DU SOL formerly went by RÜFÜS. Thankfully, Spotify leads us directly from Spoors (vol. 1) to an artist called Rufus, so mystery solved. On other sites, like Beatport for example, Spoors (vol. 1) leads us to RUFUS, which lands on an artist page that includes “Innerbloom” and other RÜFÜS releases. It’s a mess.

Anyways, listen to the track that took us down this rabbit hole below. Also, hear RÜFÜS DU SOL’s actual latest album Solace, our favorite of 2018, here.
