If there’s one thing Billboard loves, it’s charts. I have to admit though, I was somewhat excited to see what Billboard would pick as their 2013 ‘Game Changing’ tracks for this undoubtably massive year of EDM. Ranging from the thoughtful and exciting, to dull and predictable, and all the way to “not really EDM but made by people associated with EDM”, Billboard has managed to, at the the very least, compile a good playlist to rewind to some of the most brilliant moments in the last year of electronic music.

The ‘prestigious title of #1 ‘Game-Changing Track or 2013’ was awarded rather predictably to Daft Punk with Get Lucky off of their massively hyped return-album Random Access Memories. However, many would argue that RAM was one of the most underwhelming releases of the year and that Daft Punk failed to live up to the sky-high expectations set by their legendary status.

The rest of the 2-10 list is exactly what’d you guess, with the exception of Baauer‘s internet breaking Harlem Shake for the number 2 spot. Avicii, Disclosure, Martin Garrix, Krewella and more were some of  the biggest movers and shakers this year, according to Billboard. While many will most likely disagree with the game-changing status of some of their choices, I’ve got to give it to Billboard for at very least creating an enjoyable playlist to get your nostalgia on for the incredible year that was 2013. As always, cheek it out below.
