Pioneer has expanded its Serato DJ controller family with the introduction of the DDJ-SZ, which Pioneer considers its “flagship model” and the final addition to the series. The controller is designed for DJs who are looking for a top-of-the-line deck in an all-in-one controller setup.
The new controller is 35% larger than the popular DDJ-SX, as it includes additional features like the extra large 8.1 inch JOG wheels, which are the same size sported by CDJs. On top of that are 16 large multi-color illumination performance pads, a DJM-style mixer, dual USB ports, dual 24-bit sound cards allowing for two separate laptops to be connected, and a “MAGVEL” cross fader that utilizes a contact-free magnetic system that provides “extremely smooth transitions and high durability,” says Pioneer. The DDJ-SZ will be available in March 2014 for $2399 MSRP. Check out Pioneer’s promotional video, and be sure to share your thoughts in the comment section down below!
