You may not know it from the bigroom house dominating the Beatport charts and the satellite radio airwaves, but progressive house is gradually making an explosive comeback. Helping that comeback is one British producer by the name of Corey James, a young talent putting out track after track on labels such as Nicky Romero‘s Protocol Records. For his latest release, James teams up with Swedish producer Joakim Molitor for a new track on Feenixpawl and Jason Forte’s label Eclypse Records.
Titled “Morning Sun”, this latest track from James and Molitor infuse uplifting chords into a progressive marathon. The build-up mirrors the builds from classic progressive house-era tracks, but the producers add enough of their own touch to give the energy their own fingerprints. The vocals pop in during the track’s breakdown, and while the lyrics are a bit derivative, they fit well into the progressive context of “Morning Sun.” The team concludes the track by meshing all of the previous sounds together for a rousing finish.
