After Louis Futon’s last flip of Kendrick Lamar’s “Pride.” a couple weeks ago, we thought that he was done for a bit – but nope. A few days ago he also flipped Frank Ocean’s “Solo” and it might be even better still. Of course, when you flip the man that is Frank Ocean, that’s bound to happen…
The track effortlessly maintains its big band appeal with horns, piano and synths, filled with just so much soul and feeling. It definitely has that sort of ’80s Jackson 5 vibe to it, something you would rarely come across in new music these days. But yet, it still has that recognizable modern hip hop flair and swagger, really the perfect combination of the two.
