It’s June 1st so you know what that means! Over the weekend, the Your EDM playlist team was hard at work picking out the biggest and best in dance music for the last 31 days and now we’re back once again with your favorite monthly recap – Your EDM’s Month In Music.
Here at Your EDM, we’re trying to be more mindful of the storylines which is why Skrillex and Chris Lake are the joint covers of the playlist this month thanks to OWSLA’s banging HOWSLA compilation which is undoubtedly the storyline of the month. We’ve picked four of our favorite cuts from the record, “Chicken Soup,” “NEW BREED,” and “On Air,” and “Run” to share with you all.
The list of other A-list EDM artists to share new records were plenty. Calvin Harris revealed the third single to his forthcoming album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 in “Rolling.” Flume finally dropped “Hyperreal” as the lead single from Skin Companion EP II, Galantis made sugary-dance pop heaven with “Hunter,” and Martin Garrix finally revealed “There For You” – his long-awaited radio follow up to “Scared To Be Lonely” with Troye Sivan.
Plenty of our favorite emerging acts also got in the mix with plenty of new releases of their own. The mysterious Terror Jr continues to impress with their unique blend of electronic-pop crossover – check out “Death Wish.” Medasin dropped one of my favorite remixes of the year so for Portugal. The Man and a pair of Toronto’s (shout-out to the hometown) brightest dropped two huge singles. Loud Luxury’s taken over the deep house game with “Show Me” while Robotaki’s new pop-infused “Monkey Bars” will prove a summer hit for sure.
