When you really sit down and think about it, Halloween, Harry Potter and Raves have a lot in common. It’s about dressing up, doing things you normally wouldn’t do, and trying to fight off hoards of dementors while your ginger best friend is stuck in a dungeon playing a game of lifesize chess and your secret crush is actually your friend’s sister… Sorry, got off track.
Anyway, we know thanks to THUMP that there’s going to be some Harry Potter-themed festivities in Brooklyn, NY this Saturday – it’s not quite Halloween, but it’s close enough to get you in the spirit. Hosted by “badass party curators and queer art collective The Culture Whore,” the party will be in an as-yet-undisclosed warehouse. For entertainment, it will feature “Michael Magnan (SHADE, 11:11), Bearcat (Discwoman), Katie Rex (Factory Girls), and David Djsokolowski (Psychic Brooklyn). The party will also feature performance shows from hip-hop duo Banjee Report, trans showgirl Charlene, Bottoms frontman Jake Dibeler, and drag artist Lucy Balls.”
So as you can see, there’s plenty to look forward to. (Sorry, no flying brooms.)
