BLU J is a house act I’ve been very excited about ever since I first heard their remix of Ariana Grande’s “Into You”. After a heavy release schedule since then, and a collaboration with SNBRN under their belts, the duo has just struck gold with their latest remix, a very dark flip of Shallow’s “Matter”.
Starting off with dark low end complimented by a very bright lead, the track comes to life as soon as the vocal is brought in. The pre-chorus consists of the vocal over-top of some phenomenally lush plucks, which is quite honestly my favorite part of the track. We’re then treated to the drop – a dark bass line layered with some vocal chops, huge drums, and a solid groove. Moving forward, BLU J keeps a similar arrangement while toying with some tension building writing.
This remix is definitely something you do not want to miss out on, and BLU J are ones to keep an eye on.
