The Chainsmokers are part of something bigger than themselves today, as they appear in a video celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“Dream Still Lives” honors the man behind a movement. The video features inspiring words from A-list celebrities and musicians, politicians and other public figures. As soon as the legendary Stevie Wonder appears, it’s apparent something amazing is about to happen.
Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, Kesha, Katy Perry, Samuel L. Jackson, Harry Styles, Jamie Foxx, Lionel Richie, Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Mariah Carey and so many more all make appearances proving Dr. King’s dream still lives on in many ways, within many individuals.
On April 4th, 1968 at 7:05 p.m. Central Time, Dr. King’s life was cut tragically short. 50 years later a need for his dream to be fulfilled is far greater than ever. This is precisely why, the dream still lives.
Stevie Wonder speaks for everyone in the description of the video in saying, “Spread love… spread hope.”
Anyone feeling moved to share their own photos, videos, and words of inspiration should use the hashtag #DreamStillLives. Thank you, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., for everything you’ve done for us.
