Since we’re sure none of you were stoked on the lack of our beloved West Coast Wednesday series yesterday, we’re back in full force today with a gang of tracks from some true left coast beat poets.
Humboldt native, Hypha, has always been one of our favorites as far as dark, rhythmic, bass music is concerned, so we’re especially pleased to feature the Remixed EP, featuring new takes on five of his classic tunes. Fellow Humboldt born, Oakland based producer, ONHELL, kicks off the release with his signature mournful yet alluring vibe, dishing out a track that perfectly meshes the psychedelic with the melodic. Humpfree Lowgart, sAuce, Benito, and Santa Cruz dub-master, Caidance, also lend their sounds and styles to this collection of remixes, with vibes ranging from downtempo to liquid drum & bass and deep dubstep. All in all, a welcome break from the barrage of over-loud, in-your-face production we hear so much of these days; definitely don’t sleep on this one.
Remixed has been released via the Bay Area’s Muti Music imprint and is available now on Beatport; full stream can be found after the jump. Happy listening!
