The last time we received new music from The Chainsmokers was at the beginning of November, when their song “Setting Fires” ft. XYLØ was released as part of the duo’s Collage EP. Coming as a more sensual and intimate song than their usual roster of festival-worthy heaters, the song has yet to grow stale among their vast base of listeners.
For those looking to hear more material in the same kind of stylistic vein, however, member Andrew Taggart has got just the thing. On The Chainsmokers’ official Snapchat account today, Taggart draped himself in a sheet and played out 10 seconds of what can only be the next release in their schedule, and perhaps an extension of this one we got a glimpse of just a few days ago.
Judging from the song’s lyrics and tone, it’s easy to imagine that the complete release will feel a lot like “Setting Fires.” With sultry guitar chords and up-close vocals with lyrics seemingly held between a couple, the track is likely to debut as another memorable installment in The Chainsmokers’ series.
Check out the lyrics from the clip below, and listen to it further down.
“If we go down then we go down together, they’ll say you could do anything, they’ll say that I was clever.”
