About to drop their debut release through Universal Sweden, London based outfit Reyko are the on the cusp of something hugely exciting. Alongside our exclusive premiere of their track, we also spoke to the guys to find out a little more about them.

You’re about to release your debut single ‘Spinning Over You,’ congratulations! What have you enjoyed the most about making this record?

Thank you! What we really enjoyed the most has been watching how the song was growing while we were experimenting with different sounds, until finally achieving the result that we were hearing in our heads. When we finally heard the final result, we really felt it was the start of something.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourselves… when did you officially start the Reyko project?

We live in London – that’s where we met – although we both come from Spain. Reyko started in the summer of 2015, after we did a couple of songs as part of Igor’s university Masters project for music production. After finishing the first couple of songs we realised that we had a very exciting project in front of us, waiting for us to develop it and put all our passion in it.

What do you like most about each other’s musical styles?

We actually complement each other very well musically, which makes the process of making music fun and easy. (Igor) Soleil’s melodies and lyrics bring to life the productions and the sound is organic, even though we make electronic music. (Soleil) Igor is very good at finding the right mood and energy for the song with his productions.

What is the essence of the Reyko sound? How do you want people to perceive your music?

Reyko is a pop band in essence. What we really try to do is make a great pop song that can reach and touch as many people as possible.

If you could name three artists/groups who have influenced you the most, who would they be?

I guess they would be Moloko, Kygo and Robin Schulz.

Lastly, what do you hope to achieve in the next year?

We hope we can get our music to be heard by as many people as possible.
