Showtek has been on a roll lately, releasing several new tracks in support of their Amen North American Tour. Still riding high on the success of their massive single with Brooks “On Our Own” featuring Natalie Major, the Janssen brothers have released another timely and topical track with “Don’t Shoot” featuring GC.
Accompanied by a powerful music video, “Don’t Shoot” addresses the issue of police brutality, but has a hopeful message of unity at the end of the video. As for the song itself, “Don’t Shoot” features powerful vocals by GC. Showtek lead into the track with a dance hall piano riff, before it drops into full on Dutch trap horns. Here’s what the Janssen brothers had to say about “Don’t Shoot.”
“Even though we ourselves haven’t gone through this injustice, or can even relate to how hard it must be, we work closely with diverse cultures and people that have lived these struggles. We can make their voice heard by reaching out to millions of people with our music. We aim to be an example that everyone is united, we are one people, coming together without prejudice.”
