Groove Cruise Cabo 2016: The Good, The Bad & The Not So Great

While the LA edition of Groove Cruise hasn’t even sailed yet this year, promoter Whet Travel has already announced their phase 1 music lineup for its 2018 Miami edition. Groove Cruise will sail the Atlantic on a new course to the islands of Cococay and Nassau, providing the GCFam with a luxurious oceanic weekender with a wealth of world-class electronic music artists.

In the past few years that I’ve been on Groove Cruise, it has certainly lived true to its name by booking some of the most diverse and danceable lineups out there. Whether you’re a fanatic of house, techno, trance, or anything in between, Groove Cruise will have something for you. GC Miami will no doubt make you groove the entire time with the likes of the unicorn-slayer himself Markus Schulz, the energetic electronic duo Dada Life, trance titan Ilan Bluestone, melodic-house breakout star Gryffin, an Anjunabeats and Basement Leak showcase, and much, much more.

Groove Cruise will also sail with a heavy round-up of supporting acts like Thomas Jack, underground icon Jamie Jones, the mysterious house-based duo Cocodrills, Dirtybird players like Shiba San and Kill Frenzy, tech-house master Detlef and GC afterhours fave Anthony Attalla.

Beyond its expansive music programming, Groove Cruise’s new Royal Caribbean home will provide attendees with some of the finest on-board amenities, including the first ever GC all inclusive food and drink packages, high-class dining experiences, and even table service accommodations, plus thrill-pleasing activities like on-board bungee trampolines, rock climbing, casinos, and more for adrenaline-seeking sailors who aren’t afraid of a little action.

Groove Cruise Miami will also include two days at the world-famous Cococay and Nassau ports. The first stop on the will be in CocoCay, will include dual stage programming: a main stage and an underground stage. GCFam can find themselves grooving the day away on the island’s white-sand beaches, or they may find themselves exploring the local cuisine, snorkeling the clear beaches, swimming with dolphins, or even racing across the island on ATVs.

During second stop of the nautical expedition, the GCFam will be taking over the Bahama’s largest fort, Fort Charlotte, for an incredible immersive party experience. The fort will see Groove Cruise showcase underground and mainstage tunes in two separate spaces, with attendees partying in a uniquely historic venue, overlooking the blue seas of the Caribbean. Fort Charlotte will be the ultimate, historical playground for attendees to explore hidden tunnels, secret dungeons, and 42 massive cannons, while taking the GCFam back in time with a 19th century military enactment and cannon firing demonstration by the Bahamas Defense Force. You can guarantee an event of this magnitude has never been done at Fort Charlotte before.

Make sure to bring your best swimming trunks, blow up your craziest floaties, and hang on to your life-preserver because Groove Cruise is a high-sea adventure like no other, with high-class amenities, world-class dance artists, and a unique tight-knit community of thrill-seekers – you should ensure not to miss this awakening voyage.
