Your EDM Premiere: Shallows – Matter (Farleon Remix)

Every time that I write up a house tune, I have to reiterate that I’m usually not a lover of house. What this means is that when I choose to write up, or better yet premiere, a house tune, you can bet it’s of a certain level of quality.

Deep house, in particular, has never been a love of mine. That being said, when you make deep house with high energy production, it takes on a whole other life force that I can’t help but be drawn to. When Farleon remixed “Matter” by Shallows, that’s exactly what happened.

“I love it when the remix sounds better than the original.  Farleon reimagined the chord structure in a really tasteful way and delivered a pretty flawless track,” says Shallows.

The bounciness of the rhythm is immediately what catches my attention, because I know that’s the rhythm I’m going to stick to on the dance floor. Along with the vocals and the impeccable arrangement, this remix hits on about every level needed to get a bass head like me out of his shell and into the middle of the crowd.
