Benga is back in a big way, but not how many people would have expected.

For those of you out of the loop, Benga recently revealed that he has been suffering from schizophrenia which led to many relationships being destroyed in his life. Through recovery and introspection, he has found that dubstep is no longer where his interest lies, though it will forever be a part of his history.

In his new Future Funk EP out this past Friday, Benga embraces a darker, more house-influenced style. The tracks are powerful and energetic with dark undertones, like many of his past productions, but they’re just simply not the same.

Benga is not the only dubstep producer who has left dubstep for house. Most notably, his ultimate partner in crime Skream has been spotted on various house-exclusive lineups and festivals for the past couple of years.
