Carnage is seriously burying himself deep after a comment he made to nightclub owner Dave Grutman following his performance at Ultra Music Festival. In a Snapchat following his performance, Grutman asks Carnage, who had lost his voice, about his performance and how he killed the main stage. Grutman then follows up with, “And how’s Deadmau5?”

Carnage succinctly responds, “He’s a faggot.”

The video has since been removed from Joel’s Twitter, but first, let’s point out the blatant homophobia in the word “faggot” and how 95% of the educated world has moved on past using it. Apparently, Carnage didn’t get the memo. It would be been more appropriate to call Joel an “asshole” but Carnage chose to go the route of using a homophobic slur, and that’s absolutely not okay. However, Carnage continued to bury himself even deeper after responding to Joel’s tweet above, saying, “stop being such a pussy.”

Great! At least he’s being consistent with his hateful language.

For what it’s worth, deadmau5 continues to be the bigger man (ironically) in this situation. Rather than hurl insults back at Carnage, deadmau5 points out the blatant stupidity in Carnage’s statements.

Deadmau5’s initial statement in his first tweet rings ever more true in this situation, “People need to stop supporting this tool.”

We couldn’t agree more.

The whole “I have a gay/black/Asian/trans friend so it’s okay” argument is tired and old. Nothing excuses you from the fact that you used “faggot” as a slur, no matter how much of your family is gay.

For what it’s worth, Carnage finally apologized and actually acknowledged what it was that deadmau5 and many others found so disagreeable about his initial comments.
