Wolfgang Gartner Releases New Single With John Oates of Hall & Oates

Even though it took years for electronic music to cross over into the mainstream consciousness, its influence can now be felt across the entire music realm. Musicians from previous eras are now collaborating with electronic music producers, ranging from Paul McCartney with The Bloody Beetroots to Slash with Chuckie.

Wolfgang Gartner is the latest producer to link with a legendary musician, this time John Oates of Hall & Oates fame. It’s only fitting their collaboration, titled “Baby Be Real,” resulted in a disco house track, given that Oates’ work with Hall & Oates helped define dance music of the late 70s and 80s and Gartner has pursued a more disco sound with his most recent album 10 Ways To Steal Home Plate. The track blends both artists’ sounds together for a poppy, feel-good single. We hope to see more great collaborations like this in dance music in the future.

Listen to “Baby Be Real” below, as well as Gartner’s club and radio edits:

The other half of Hall & Oates, Daryl Hall has also been featured in an EDM track before. You might recognize his voice from Nero’s “Reaching Out.”
