Fred again.. fans just got a new way to relive one of his biggest tours. Behind The Sound, a short documentary from Mexican filmmaker and YouTuber Gawx, zeroes in on the closing chapter of Fred’s USB002 run, a 21-date trek through 10 cities worldwide. Rather than trying to capture the whole tour, the roughly 20-minute film centers on the final show at Mexico City’s Expo Santa Fe on December 12, 2025, spending time with Fred and his team in the days beforehand as they prepared for the last date of the run.
Fred again.. reacted to the release on Instagram, expressing gratitude that Gawx spent the week embedded with him and the Latin Mafia crew to capture the experience. It’s the second documentary treatment the USB002 tour has received, Sydney-based creator Derrick Gee released his own film earlier this year, chronicling 24 hours with Fred during a Vancouver tour stop.
The USB002 run itself became something of a cultural moment well beyond these two documentaries, its later legs added residency shows in New York and London, bringing out collaborators like Thomas Bangalter, Skrillex, Four Tet, and Floating Points. Combined with the tour’s own share of viral moments, from a 108-hour continuous YouTube mix to a scenography exhibition in New York, Behind The Sound adds another layer to what’s become one of the most thoroughly documented tours in recent dance music history.
