With an introduction that reminds me of a sci-fi movie, Mat Zo’s remix of Chromeo’s “Lost On The Way Home” is nothing close. I like to think of Mat Zo’s remix as a bright and sunny day that is suffering from a little cloud cover early in the afternoon. His rework starts out with a massively delayed kick, snare, clap pattern that is layered with an atmospheric synth that adds depth and an eerie feeling. But it isn’t long before little bits sun start to appear as the happy upbeat endearing melody and charming vocals from Solange start to shine through the cracks. After the first signs of sunlight, the weather of this song has no choice but to clear up.
