It’s safe to say that in 2015, Jerry Folk has cemented his standing as Norway’s next big star. Much like his peers and predecessors like Cashmere Cat, Kygo, Fehrplay, and Trippy Turtle, Jerry Folk is armed with a sound that has some serious mainstream appeal, while maintaining his status as one of nu-disco’s budding stars. In this year alone, Folk has delivered some of his biggest tracks, like his remix of Oh Wonder’s “Lose It” that put him on the map for good on its way to a Hype Machine #1 and over 4.5 million plays. Now, it’s looking like Folk has his latest hit – a remix of Years & Years’ “Desire” – primed and ready to go to make a splash.
On the remix, Folk does away with the original’s electro-pop production in favor of a nu-disco backbone laced in house vibes. Pairing Years & Years frontman, Olly Alexander’s, vocals with evolving synth arrangements, Folk will have you moving and grooving on the dance floor before you know it.
