Snapchat Takes Photo Sharing To The Next Level By Letting Users Create Their Own Filters

Snapchat update

Snapchat is taking its social platform to the next level by getting its users more involved with the filter designs!

The photo and video sharing app has rolled out over 3,000 of its own filters to date, and now the company is opening it up to any and all creative minds. If you have a vision, a computer, and some spare time, you can now design your own snap filters and share ’em with friends.

Lens Studio allows its users to construct, edit, and even animate 3D figures using Blender or 3ds Max, and import data that Snapchat can easily interpret. Unique “Snap Codes,” basically the app’s own version of a QR code, allow you to use the lens, share, and go wild with imagination. The best part? It’s all free.

As cool as this all is, Eitan Pilipski, VP, of the camera platform team promises there is more to come: “We want to emphasize that this is just the beginning. We want to put it out there and learn.”

The delightful filter of the unicorn below is just one small example of the endless possibilities now achievable through Snapchat! Get started here… Happy snapping!
