Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo hit one billion Spotify streams for his iconic remix of Whitney Houston’s single ‘Higher Love’.
On his X account Kygo celebrated by sharing a heartfelt thank you to his fans and Whitney Houston’s estate, along with videos of him playing the track to sold-out venues and behind-the-scenes footage of him working on the remix.
Kygo’s reimagining of the single catapulted him to the forefront of the global electronic music scene and shifted his career forever. The track topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in the US which was the third for Kygo and the 14th for Whitney. 
Whitney’s version is an unreleased cover of Steve Winwood’s 1986 hit single ‘Higher Love’. The cover was only released on the 1990 Japanese edition of her album I’m Your Baby Tonight.
