Premiere: Zeke Beats — Pay Attention EP [Freeish Download]

We hadn’t heard much about Perth based beat-maker Zeke Beats until just recently, when our friends at Saturate! Records sent us his latest EP, Pay Attention. Now, he’s on our radar like no other; one listen through the EP and we were completely hooked.

Zeke clearly didn’t hold back on Pay Attention in any way, as this is easily some of the wildest, most high energy bass music we’ve heard this year. The low end is hot and heavy, the synthwork is wacky and in your face, and the arrangement is spot on; there’s always a lot happening, but not one element ever sounds out of place. Each track is completely unique, but the vibes are similar enough to really bring the album together as a cohesive whole, making for an smooth and steady listening experience. Our favorite track is unquestionably ‘Jaded’; it’s deceptively simple intro leads into one of the most hyphy and well crafted compositions we’ve had the pleasure to fill our ears with. And there’s more: Zeke Beats‘ original tracks are accompanied by a slew of remixes from other forward thinkers in the game like Subp Yao and fellow Australian beat hustler, Ta-Ku.
