Rich Raw – Souled Out [Wyatt Noise Recordings]

Rich Raw is aiming to bring out Oxford’s dark side with his brand of hard-hitting DnB. Creator of the relatively new label Wyatt Noise Recordings, his passion for the genre is hard to miss, with his Twitter and Facebook proudly sporting the slogan “drum and bass in your face”. Earlier this week, Rich Raw released “Souled Out” and “The Sorcerer”, two very different, refreshingly unique DnB tracks that deserve to be heard by the masses.

“Souled Out” starts out with an uplifting piano intro, serene bells and a soft yet energetic beat. The song progresses into a melody reminiscent of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Can I Kick It”, with layers of percussion and calming piano throughout.

“The Sorcerer” goes in an entirely different direction and truly shows us the dark side. The gritty bassline and heavy mechanical beats keep the energy coming and give it somewhat of a sci-fi feel.

Listen to previews of each track below, and grab the full EP on Beatport now.
