Snapchat‘s first piece of hardware didn’t sell so hot.
The Snapchat programmed sunglasses first introduced this year were quite exclusive, only available in select locations until the design was mass produced in following months. While Spectacles seemed like a good idea at the time and much buzz surrounded the on-sale, the social media company is reportedly still sitting on about 150,000 unsold units.
That’s a lot of snaps going unsnapped.
Spectacles boast on-the-go charging, wireless syncing, and the ability to capture the world around you with the touch of a button. The snap shades claim to help “make memories” and ensure “you’ll never miss a moment.” The idea of snapping a set at a music festival without ever touching your phone does seem appealing, so what gives?
If you want the sunglasses that that Snap, there are plenty to go around via spectacles.com for $129.99 a pop.
