MySpace Offers Generic Statement Following Titanic Loss Of Music, Photos, Videos

MySpace has admitted to and apologized for a “server migration error” that ultimately led to the loss of 12 years worth of music, photos, and video uploads and memories.

Approximately 50 million songs by 14 million artists were affected, according to initial reports. Now, it’s being reported that countless photos and videos uploaded from 2003 and 2015 were also lost in the shuffle. It’s believed that the files are gone forever, unable to be recovered.

After an uproar from users on Reddit, MySpace took to its website to issue an official statement:

As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago may no longer be available on or from Myspace. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Years of work and all these faithful MySpace artists get is a bleak statement and a cookie-cutter, “We apologize for the inconvenience.”

We’re just over here waiting to see what the now retired Myspace Tom has to say about all this.
